Behind The Scenes Fun at Ross’s
I’ve had some pretty horrendous luck lately with models thinking it’s cool to show up 2 hours late.
Sometimes the only thing you can do to stay sane is go crazy.
Here’s some behind-the-scenes stuff I shot on Saturday along with Barry Templeton, Jeremy Grieff, Chris “Gooner” Mangune, and a few others whose names escape me at the moment.
The Fog
Yesterday morning was ripe with fog so I thought I’d take a trip out to Yorktown to see how things looked.

If you like what you see and want a print they can be ordered by clicking the picture and adding it to the shopping cart. Don’t forget to add a frame.
Hereyezon Fire At The Norva
Hereyezon Fire live at The Norva in Norfolk, VA on October 03, 2009.
This was unfortunately their last show as a band.
They will be missed.

Messing around
A group photoshoot that had been planned for today fell through but Jeremy Grieff and I didn’t let that get us down.
We decided to head out and have fun messing around anyway.
Here is what happens when you let Jeremy and myself roam around a salvage yard bored and equipped with a studios worth of lighting.
Meet Adriana
I met up with fellow photographer Jeremy Grieff over the weekend to do a shoot for a facebook friend of his.
We all had a blast (up until Jeremy got nailed by a wasp while trying to get a different angle to shoot from) and I walked away with a couple of decent shots. My speedlight was giving me some problems, but I was able to save a few of them enough in post to share.
Check out Jeremy’s blog post from the shoot and also be sure to take a peek at the “Behind The Scenes” goofin off shots.
Langley Speedway Street Rod & Muscle Car Show
Langley Speedway hosted a Street Rod & Muscle Car show on Saturday May 2, 2009. There was a nice turn out and I recognized quite a few cars I’ve noticed while out and about in the Hampton Roads area. The show was held by the Virginia Peninsula Car Club Council and Langley Speedway to benefit the Victory Junction Gang Camp Foundation which was started in 2004 by Kyle and Pattie Petty in honor of their son Adam who passed away in 2000. Victory Junction enriches the lives of children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses by providing life-changing camping experiences that are exciting, fun, and empowering, in a safe and medically-sound environment.
Good cause and great cars!
Here are a few of my favorite shots from the event. As always, the full set of pictures can be viewed and purchased in my gallery. If you belong to one of the local car clubs who participated in the event and wish to use some of the shots on your own web sites just contact me (my email address is in the contact link at the top of this site) and I will be sure to size them down and email them to you ready to be uploaded to your own site.
Jackson/Wofford Wedding
I normally don’t do weddings but Nikki has been friends with my wife for years so I couldn’t say no, lol.
My style isn’t exactly structured or traditional, so I don’t go out looking to shoot weddings. That being said, I am available at a very modest cost should you be looking for a less expensive photographer for a laid back smallish service.
The full set is in My Gallery

Tanners Point – Red Carpet Premiere
Last night I attended the Red Carpet premiere of Tanners Point, a local reality tv show based on and revolving around the owner and employees of Sundays Blue Box Tanning Resort headquartered in of Virginia Beach. I didn’t know what to expect from the event before being thrown right into it, but it turned out to be a pretty good time. The night started with a fashion show featuring apparel from Foxers and All Star Life. This led to the showing of a “Best Of” featurette which included footage from their 4 episode television show which debuts Sunday March 15 on Cox Channel 11. The night ended with live music performed by Jay Bellamy, Jackmove, and The Atlantic
Here are some of my favorite shots of the event at The Wyndham Hotel. As always you can view and purchase all of the photos from the event in my gallery. I had a lot of fun and wish the cast and crew all the best as they continue to promote their show.

Yorktown Beach
I was down at Yorktown Beach today with a couple of buddies from a local Photo Club. Just thought I’d throw up a couple of the shots I ended up with.
Rosewell in 360
I wanted to see if I was able to upload and display 360 degree interactive panoramics and I just so happen to have an image to test it with.
I took this a while back to test out my newly aquired Nodal Ninja Pano Head. Using my Tokina AT-X 107 AF DX 10-17mm Fish-Eye Zoom on a Nikon D100 I was able to stitch together 9 shots to create an interactive flash based 360 degree panoramic image. As seen below.
Be sure to try it out it full-screen by clicking the button in the lower right. As I said, it is fully interactive so click and drag on it to fly around the image.
