Tanners Point – Red Carpet Premiere

Last night I attended the Red Carpet premiere of Tanners Point, a local reality tv show based on and revolving around the owner and employees of Sundays Blue Box Tanning Resort headquartered in of Virginia Beach. I didn’t know what to expect from the event before being thrown right into it, but it turned out to be a pretty good time. The night started with a fashion show featuring apparel from Foxers and All Star Life. This led to the showing of a “Best Of” featurette which included footage from their 4 episode television show which debuts Sunday March 15 on Cox Channel 11. The night ended with live music performed by Jay Bellamy, Jackmove, and The Atlantic

Here are some of my favorite shots of the event at The Wyndham Hotel. As always you can view and purchase all of the photos from the event in my gallery. I had a lot of fun and wish the cast and crew all the best as they continue to promote their show.

DIY Project: Alien Bees Beauty Dish

I was stumbling through the internet today with one goal in mind. To make a cheap beauty dish for my Alien Bees AB1600 strobe. Don’t get me wrong, Paul C Buff has got some high-quality, inexpensive gear available. Unfortunately, the economy (and more specifically my wallet) will not afford me the luxury of adding the 22″ Beauty Dish to my gear pile.

That being said, there are a few choice articles on how to make your own beauty dishes. Unfortunately all the ones I’ve come across are meant for speedlights and I want one for my AB1600 (more…)
